I did a quick Google search on how to write a bio... and then ignored all that and decided to try this my own way. This bio was written on February 22nd, 2024. ..................................................................................................................
My commitment to trying to write consistently came from my struggle to find supportive resources on dating a single dad and becoming part of a step family. The literature on this feels non-existent and for what I could find on the subject, it was woefully opinionated, pessimistic, and what few articles I could find were repetitive and exacerbated my anxiety.
So I rage wrote an article of my own, and felt like this would be something I'd like to continue writing about. I'm not the only person looking for help on this topic I'm sure, so I could potentially help others. Which, as someone passionate about psychology and mental health, aligns nicely with my educational career. I'm in school part-time studying psychology.
Full time, I work at a Canadian Fintech company and on the side, run the Employee Resource Group (ERG) on mental health there as well. Originally, I went to college for Acting for Film and Television. Far from a linear journey, I'm interested and passionate about all these things I've explored in my life. And I'm wanting to continue exploring these topics in different ways.
Psychology. Money. Art. Mental health. Relationships. DEI. Step-families. Drama. ERGs. Education.
It's a weird blend, maybe. But it's my weird blend of things. As a certified weirdo, it fits. And I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of these writings.
Happy scribbling!
